Accreditation
Barcelona International College syllabi and professors have been evaluated and approved by Jacksonville University (Florida, U.S.), which accredits our courses. Regular reviews by Jacksonville University ensure that academic quality remains the number one priority of the BIC program. The combination of being a liberal arts college that includes all of the benefits of a comprehensive university, allows the ethos of Jacksonville University to be translated to Barcelona College.
Official Transcripts
Official transcripts from Jacksonville University are sent to BIC students at their home university about 6-8 weeks following completion of their program at Barcelona International College. Whether you complete a semester in Spain or study throughout the summer, you’ll receive the appropriate accreditation for your time in Barcelona.
Credits
You will receive 3 credits for each 45 hours of course taken. Most classes are worth 3 credits, but intensive Spanish courses run for 90 hours, earning students 6 credits. We offer semester, summer programs and January term classes that range from 3 to 12 weeks. You will be able to take as few as 3 credits and as many as 15, depending on the length of your studies and your course load.
Requirements
- 2.5 GPA (Based on a 4.0 scale)
- No previous knowledge of Spanish is required
Languages
Even though students are encouraged to take BIC Spanish classes while in Barcelona, most courses are taught in English. That means that no previous knowledge of Spanish is required. You’ll enjoy the comfort of learning in English while still experiencing everything Spain has to offer.
